The second course of the Italian Food Academy of Nairobi has successfully kicked off. The Academy of Italian Cuisine is promoted by Alice For Children, whose one of main sponsors is Medac.
During the first academic year, the school has cooperated with some professors of the Carlo Porta Food and Wine Institute based in Milan, passing the torch to the new director at the end of the year.
Director Leah is a Kenyan citizen, holding a deep knowledge of Italian culinary culture, having studied at the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo (Cuneo).
The new Academic programme was launched with a special event, involving among the others the Italian ambassador in Nairobi.
In the meantime, Preparations of the school's new kitchen are running at full speed, an enlargement aiming at involving a greater number of youths from the Nairobi favelas interested in becoming true "Italian" cooks.
The opening event, along with the start-up of additional teaching facilities realized by Alice For Children in Kenya, is scheduled for early November.
